The main aim of the University of Lleida is provide high standards of teaching with quality services throughout the university community that reach society beyond the campus gates. Students make up most of the UdL community, and our objective is to ensure that they enjoy the teaching and learning processes involved.
The University of Lleida has managed to achieve a high position in different areas of research. Currently, the UdL has 94 research groups that develop their activity in various areas of knowledge. The UdL holds the 8th position in Spain in productivity of research (Rankings ISSUE, BBVA Foundation, 2013), the 6th in source normalized impact per paper (CyD 2012) and the 2nd in excellence and leadership (CyD 2014).
The UdL upholds a policy aimed at freeing its grounds of the many obstacles that could make academic life more difficult for the physically disabled members of the university community.
The “UdL for Everyone” Unit brings together resources and initiatives that are designed to facilitate the integration of the entire university community, to promote a university without barriers and to guarantee equal opportunities to students with physical disabilities. The University has acquired a number of resources that not only target this group, but also reach out to the administrative and teaching staff involved in disability issues, and society in general, as some resources can also be used by individuals outside of the university community. These include frequency modulation systems for students with impaired hearing, the JAWS programme, Magnilink X Reader screen magnifiers, portable interactive blackboards and voice recognition programmes.
