Students may also apply for free registration or partial deductions in their registration fees if they meet the following conditions: they belong to a large family; they obtain a first class degree; they are awarded a distinction in their university entrance exam or school-leaving exam (only awarded for the first academic year and the first time they register).

UdL-SPECIFIC GRANTS ANF FUNDING
1. Collaboration grants in UdL services and units
Collaboration grants give students from UdL schools on official degree courses the opportunity to acquire additional training. The amount awarded for these grants depends on students’ time commitment.
Each academic year, students are given the opportunity to undertake collaborative tasks in different UdL services and units, with the aim of contributing to their practical training.
Calls for applications for other specific short-term grants are also published throughout the academic year.
2. Funding for academic mobility
2.1. Travel grants
Students enrolled on official degrees at UdL schools who engage in academic activities outside the UdL may apply for funding from a number of mobility programmes. These grants are intended to cover part of their travel expenses.
2.2. Funding for accommodation and living expenses
UdL students who take part in academic activities within the UdL Mobility Programme are eligible to apply for this funding.
2.3. Funding for students enrolled on double degree programmes
This funding is for UdL students who have been selected by their faculty or school to participate in double degree programmes between the UdL and other universities.
2.4 UdL grants for Erasmus students
Funding for Erasmus students at UdL schools with the best academic records. These grants are awarded in addition to the European Commission’s Erasmus grant enjoyed by all the students who take part in this mobility programme.
2.5 Other funding
Bancaja International Grants: these grants are available to students at UdL schools and affiliated schools who undertake academic activities within the UdL Mobility Programme.
Jade Plus Grants: a grant programme financed by the Banco Santander that targets Latin American students with excellent records who wish to pursue doctoral degrees through the UdL’s postgraduate programmes.
3. Funding for UdL students with special needs
Students with special needs may apply for the funding from the Aid Programme for Individuals with Special Needs. To be eligible for this funding, students must be on an official UdL course and they must have a certificate stating that their disability hinders their academic life.

4. Funding for cultural activities
This funding is designed to promote the organisation of all artistic, social, humanitarian, technical and scientific, and solidarity activities. It also aims to promote Catalan culture and the use of the Catalan language.

5. Funding for international cooperation projects and research in development cooperation
This funding aims to promote cooperation in the fields of education, culture, research and development between members from the UdL community and economically disadvantaged cultures or groups.
