INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS AREA (ASIC)
The Area of information and Communication Systems has the task of carrying auf ail Information technology projects In the University of Lleida. it is organised into three divisions:
- The Teaching and Research Systems Division is responsible for the computer classrooms in the University of Lleida and carries out the maintenance of the UdL's 1,500 computers. It also advises the teaching staff about aii aspects of information technology and aids the students and teachers In the classes.
- The Systems and Communications Division works to guarantee the security of data and communications, the installation of communication networks and the maintenance of the telephone installations
- The Management Systems Division automates the management processes of the University and the places these in self-service systems via Internet or intranet.

SPORTS SERVICE
Starting from the Idea that sport and the physical activity must form part of university academic life, the Sports Service organlses courses to promote various sports and activities, such as swimming, tennis, table tennis, squash or ballroom dancing as well as programmes of skiing and nature-orIentated activities (mountain biking, descense at ravines, canoeing, etc.). Similarly, it promotes, co-ordinates and organlses all the competitive activity, both the internal UdL championships and the
Catalonia University championship the Spanish Universities championships or International competitions It alsu provides the installations for sports and establishes agreements with companies for the acquisition nf sports material and services at interesting prices.

Research centre set up jointly by the university and the Catalan Government's Department of Health. Its aim is to promote the synergies in biomedical research between both institutions.
AGRI-FOOD SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PARK
It is a consortium between the University of Lleida and the Paeria with the aim of promoting R+D+I activities between the university and business and the creation of new businesses based on knowledge.
R+D+I SUPPORT OFFICE
The R+D+I support office is the unit whose mission is to encourage and manage research activities carried out in the Universities different departments and its aim is to act as an interface between the University and business.
The purpose of the centre is to promote the process of technological innovation in the industrial fabric of our environment, expressly dedicating itself to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMES) through the transfer of the results of research carried out or which may be carried out at our University. This relationship is beneficial for both parties as research must be linked to the needs of society and of business, all the more so taking into account that effort made in research and development is one of the most commonly used variables for measuring a country's competitiveness.
