Catalan Courses

Beginner Level Intensive Course in Catalan (A1)*

This course has a duration of 40 hours and allows students to start studying Catalan before classes start. The course is taught intensively from the 23rd January to the 3rd February 2012 and includes complementary activities to enjoy culture and leisure in Lleida.

 It is highly recommendable to enrol in this course, since it will be useful in order to follow lectures and integrate more easily into university life.

* for students who enrol at the University of Lleida for the first time.

Addressed at: non-Catalan speakers who enrol at the University of Lleida for the first time.

Elementary Level Course in Catalan (A2)

Students are required to provide a certificate of achievement of the previous level, or to take a placement test in order to access the Level A2.

Placement test

Students who fulfil the requirements of this course can sit for the official examination in Catalan (Nivell Bàsic)

Language Volunteers

The group of Language Volunteers is formed by students and staff from the UdL who are willing to help students to integrate into the university and Lleida, in areas such as student life, leisure and cultural activities, language, etc. Those students registered in mobility programmes will be assigned a language volunteer on their arrival. Students who are not part of a mobility programme but who are interested in contacting a language volunteer can do so at the Language Service.

Spanish Courses for Foreigners

Regulations

Students are required to provide a certificate of achievement of the previous level (certificates issued by the Instituto Cervantes or Spanish / international universities), or to take a placement test in order to access the Spanish Courses. Students without any knowledge of Spanish do not have to take the placement test. They can enrol directly for A1 level course.

Dates: 6th February 2012

Times: 10:00 or 15:00

Place: Classroom, 0.17 CCCT (Cappont Campus)

Results and information about the courses

* If you didn't take the placement test, you can still take it at the Language Self-Learning Centre (CAL), Language Service, from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00.

General Courses

The courses of the 2nd semester will take place between February and May (2nd semester). The different level courses will be organised depending on the results of the placement tests. Levels offered: A1, A2 and B1.

Price. A1 and A2 Levels:

• UdL students (also participants in UdL's mobility programme and visiting students/academic staff): 120 €
• Erasmus Mundus Programme and Jade Plus Programme and PDI: free

Placement test

Only for access to the courses offered in the second semester (with previous on-line registration starting on the 1st February)

Dates: 14th February 2012 (On-line registration)

Times: 12:00 or 16:00

Location: Cappont campus

Results: 17th February 2012

 

Conversation Group

The minimum level to follow the course is A2.

This course is aimed particularly at students of level B1 or B2 of English wishing to improve their oral proficiency.
